Notice
You receive a 3-Day Notice to Quit demanding possession.
This is a demand, not a removal.Court Papers
An unlawful-detainer case is filed and court papers are served.
You have time to respond.Case & Judgment
If you respond, the case continues. After hearing or trial, the court may issue a judgment.
Time varies. Many factors can affect duration.Writ of Possession
If the purchaser wins, the court may issue a Writ of Possession authorizing enforcement of the judgment.
Sheriff
The sheriff posts the required notice and later carries out the court-ordered removal.
